Showcasing how Carrier is building possible around the world
Carrier’s spirit of innovation is alive in the new Center for Intelligent Buildings, its global headquarters in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The first-of-its-kind workspace and customer experience center openly showcases critical building products and integrated systems that are typically hidden in basements, closets and on rooftops. It reveals to customers and visitors the Carrier solutions that are vital to productive, safe and comfortable indoor environments. The 224,000-square-foot facility was built to LEED Platinum standards and has hosted more than 12,000 visitors since its opening in the spring of 2018.
Delivering one of the most efficient air conditioners available
Groundbreaking energy efficiency, industry-defining innovation and maximum home comfort — Carrier is once again at the forefront of the heating and cooling industry. Its new Carrier Single-Zone Ductless HVAC system is rated at 42 SEER, and there is nothing more efficient in North America. The new system gives homeowners the ultimate comfort experience with highly specialized humidity and motion management. It includes Wi-Fi as a standard feature, allowing homeowners to communicate directly with any Android or Apple device, eliminating the need for accessories or third-party connected solutions.
Leveraging big data for optimum building performance
Building operators are now able to better leverage building data by using the new OptiFlex virtual integrator platform developed by Carrier’s Automated Logic business. The system monitors large volumes of information across various building systems, subsystems and devices — regardless of the manufacturer. With support for up to 50,000 data points through a single computer server, it saves considerable wall space and installation labor. The platform was recognized as an Innovation Award Winner at AHR Expo, the largest heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration exposition in the world.
Introducing a new era of access control and security solutions
In 2018 Carrier acquired S2 Security and formed the new LenelS2 business, a global leader in commercial and enterprise security systems. The collective strength of both companies provides scalable, advanced access control and video solutions to small- and mid-size companies, as well as global enterprises. With more than 50,000 systems installed worldwide, LenelS2 offers enhanced service capabilities and offerings to customers, accelerating solutions for intelligent buildings across the globe.
Celebrating 50 years of container refrigeration with key wins
In 2018 Carrier Transicold celebrated the 50th anniversary of the invention of the front-wall refrigeration unit for marine shipping. It was an invention that revolutionized the global transport of perishable and frozen goods. Carrier Transicold’s reliability, service and commitment to innovation was recognized throughout the year, as the company inked key sales to a number of major shipping lines. Evergreen Line, one of the world’s leading shipping companies, enhanced its operations with 3,000 containers refrigerated by Carrier Transicold PrimeLINE units. T.S. Lines of Taiwan purchased 1,000 similar units, increasing refrigerated capacity by 24 percent. MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company expanded its fleet with 2,000 NaturaLINE units, the largest order for the CO2-refrigerant system to date, and a record-setting order of 5,000 refrigerated containers with XtendFRESH atmosphere control technology.
